My fun task for the evening after putting Avi to sleep and finishing up some work: wiping and reconfiguring my aged MacBook Air! 🎉 Interestingly, after wiping it clean, I was reverted to OS X 10.11.6, El Capitan.
Once getting El Cap settled I upgraded to High Sierra (APFS fo’ lyfe!..mostly into it for the emoji, if I’m being honest, though) and then installed the bare essentials. Going to try to keep the Air nimble as it continues to age…
- macOS command line tools without the added bloat of Xcode
- neovim and a handful of essential plugins
- neomutt for emails
- Micro.Blog.app
- Transmit 5
- nvAlt (although, I’ve been thinking about jumping nvAlt ship)
- Keepass
- Keybase
- Pastebot
- Dropbox
- WeeChat (which I’ve been using via glowing-bear of late)
- MAMP
- Spotify
…now that I’m seeing the whole list, that doesn’t seem all that nimble! Whoops. That is a heap-o-programs!?
