I like this notion of the collective journey, but think this piece over credits the internet with its rise. I think that collaborative and/or participatory storytelling has been around for a wicked long time. Maybe the hero’s journey gave us a way of framing certain narratives, but haven’t folks been participating in the stories they hear, read and tell for as long as folks have been hearing, reading and telling stories?
